Sammy Stick History

The Sammy Stick has a long list of predecessors including the hashi stick, the judo stick, the yawara stick and the pocket stick.

The Sammy Stick was created by Terry Kingsbury and named after his daughter Samantha who has very small hands. The design of the Sammy stick is based on several hand-held predecessors including the pocket stick. The difference is the Sammy stick is smaller, lighter and doesn’t resemble a weapon. The Sammy stick is dedicated to Terry’s daughters Sam and Olivia and all the women he has trained over the years. It is because of them that he took the time to develop this highly effective tool.
