Youth and Adult Karate

Adult

It is one thing to go to the gym week in and week out with the eventual goal of becoming fit.  At Stronger You, you will be learning new skills, achieving concrete goals and developing a sense of personal pride as you work toward your Black Belt.  The fitness happens easily and naturally with your training.

You have seen it on TV and in the movies, but what are Martial Arts really about?
In the Stronger You Karate program, you will learn:

  1. Traditional Martial Arts, which were historically developed as top-notch systems of self-defense help develop confidence, focus and respect.
  2. Personal Safety Skills are taught weekly including physical skills and de-escalation, to ensure you are able to deal with all levels of violence.
  3. A Better Way to Health and Fitness is practiced in every class; a great workout, tailored to your level, strength training and core training in a fun and welcoming community.

Our students in this program are men and women from 13 to 65 years of age.  They are from all walks of life, most with no previous experience.  If you are dealing with an injury or with a disability, our instructors are willing and able to adapt our program for you, so that you can train safely and with confidence.

Registration happens year round.  We recommend that you train 2 to 3 times per week to achieve the maximum benefits.  Classes are offered throughout the week and on Saturday.  Please check our website for the complete schedule. Please call the school for our current fee schedule.

Youth

Too often in today’s world, teenagers find themselves stuck in the middle. They’re too old for the children’s programs but too young to really fit in with adults. Stronger You is bridging the gap with the Friday night “Kiken-Chitai” program! Friday evenings, students between the ages of 12 and 17 have the dojo for a movie or teen only training session.  Twice a year, we have our teen-only training camp with leadership skills and martial arts training. Through this program, teenagers keep variety in their training and experience regular interaction with youth with similar interests in a safe and mutually respectful place.
